So that’s me back to reality and back to work after my first 3 day test of the year at Cartagena in Spain.
We had a very productive 3 days (other than the first hour we landed in Alicante where I smashed the window of the hire car before we even left the airport car park, don’t ask or say no more other than it was good we had the full insurance!!)
Anyway back to business, the first day we spent getting back into the groove again. It was crazy how rusty I felt after 4 months off the bike, it just shows no matter how much gym time you put in there is no substitute for bike time (trying to tame 215bhp) so we felt like the body had been hit by a train on the second day but once it had warmed up we knocked another two seconds off our PB and the bikes were starting to feel good with a few tweaks to the set up.
Day 3 was the best day weather wise, the sun made an appearance and you could feel the Spanish warmth we went for, day one was debatable that the Isle of Man might of even been warmer and anyone that knows the Isle of Man, knows it has its own wild climate in winter!
But we got down to business and set the best time of 1:37.2 which is pretty competitive round there by what we have been told so that gave us good confidence and put my self in good stead ready for the start of the racing season. I am hoping to get out testing again weather that is UK or maybe 1 other trip to Spain who knows, it all comes down to work and if I can sneak anymore time off with a busy year coming up!
